Policies

At Zen Remedial and Natural Therapies we strive for professionalism, by following a strict code of ethics provided by registered association Massage and Myotherapy Australia.
We take these guidelines very seriously to provide a professional massage therapy practice.
Our scope of practice is within massage therapies only - we do not diagnose medical conditions. If needed our therapist will refer you onto another professional for diagnosis and treatment, sometimes even refer you to your local doctor.

Privacy and Confidentiality
At Zen Remedial and Natural Therapies we take your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. We only collect basic personal information including a brief medical history that is needed to provide the correct treatment service. Any clinical information provided to us is stored either physically or electronically, in a confidential manner that can only be accessed by the therapist unless consent is given for third-party access in result of a referral request.  A client may be expected to remove some clothing items to enable the therapist to provide the appropriate treatments and assessments during the massage session.
At Zen Remedial and Natural Therapies we maintain professional ethical standards and comply with generally accepted standards of professional behaviour.  We honour the right to personal privacy, dignity and modesty of the client at all times. We comply with all Privacy laws. Any communication between client and therapist remains confidential, unless otherwise specified.

Booking Appointments
You can schedule an appointment by contacting us directly via phone or email and also schedule an appointment through our now available online booking system.

Appointment Cancellation, Reschedule and No-Show
At Zen Remedial and Natural Therapies we understand that things come up at the last minute and you may not be able to attend your scheduled appointment.
If you know you won’t be able to make your appointment, we ask that you provide us with at least 4 hours notice of cancellation or reschedule of appointment to allow us to allocate that time slot to someone who is waiting for an appointment.
We understand that emergencies can arise at any moment and we are compassionate about these circumstances when it comes to applying late cancellation fees.
However a late cancellation fee will apply if:

  • Cancellation less than 4 hours of your appointment will have a late fee of 50% value of the appointment unless the appointment is rescheduled on the day of cancellation.

  • Cancellation less than 2 hours of your appointment will have a late fee of 100% value of the appointment unless the appointment is rescheduled on the day of cancellation.

  • No-Show fee of 100% value of appointment will apply if you do not show up or make contact at the time of your appointment, this fee will be added to your account and payment due at your next scheduled appointment.

If you are running late to a scheduled appointment please contact us as soon as possible as we may still be able to complete your scheduled appointment at a shortened time frame, or we can try to allocate another time slot on the day if a time slot is available

From time to time your therapist may be unavailable due to leave, illness, family need or other emergencies. You will be contacted within a timely manner to reschedule your appointment.

Payment
All payments are required to be paid in full at the end of your treatment - you can choose to pay cash or card.
Health funds are accepted for remedial massage treatments.

Massage Treatment Standards and Professional Conduct
At the beginning of each treatment the therapist will discuss with you any improvements or changes since the last treatment to assess the current or ongoing treatment plan. For new clients this is a chance to discuss what you wish to get out of the treatment, focus points and create a treatment plan if needed.
The therapist may provide advice for you after the massage - such as stretches or mobility exercises to do at home, water intake advice, heat or cooling therapy tips.

  • During the massage treatment the therapist will cover and drape you with clean linen for your comfort and privacy and will only expose the area of your body that is being worked on, if at any point during the treatment you feel discomfort of any sort, the therapist will tailor the treatment to suit your needs for comfort.

  • If you are under the age of 16 you must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

  • You can have your parent/guardian wait in the waiting area if you prefer to not have them in the treatment room.

  • You can have a parent/guardian accompany you in the massage session if this will help you to feel more comfortable; as long as they do not disrupt the session.

  • All massage services provided by the therapist are non-sexual. We will not tolerate any sexual conversation or behaviour.

  • Appointments will be terminated immediately for inappropriate behaviour. You will be charged the full session fee and all further bookings will be denied.

  • Any inappropriate behaviour by the therapist will result in the matter being referred to a professional massage association or relevant state authority for independent investigation.
